HELP! I need a ____________!

Ever needed a lawyer, accountant, seamstress, plumber or any one of a thousand other service providers? Where do you look first? Yellow Pages? Maybe. I ask friends.

I just went through this process looking for a good Real Estate Agent. Not a painful process, but a slow one; calling around, having people e-mail their people’s coordinates to me, talking to each recommendation, etc.

A new Toronto-based web startup, Gigpark saves me this time and gives some transparency to who my friends would recommend without me having to poll them all individually. With a slick user interface and, having already found three potential service providers through their system, I highly recommend you check it out!

New Tech Tools

One of the things I am passionate about is Web 2.0 tools; often hosted tools with a SaaS business model. From Bubbleshare to Yahoo! Pipes to Ning to all the tools from 37Signals.

In my search for a document today I stumbled upon a new tool: http://www.docstoc.com/

Docstoc is a user generated community for sharing professional documents. Check it out!

I’ll be posting more tools like this over the coming months. Why? These tools are incredibly valuable for any emerging-growth company as they generally give you the functionality of enterprise software without the headache or price tag.

Stay tuned!

EP Enterprises joins the blogosphere!
